New Old Stock BMP-1 Track Links – Polish Army Surplus

Grab them while you can! These are becoming rarer than hen’s teeth.

If you’re restoring a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle, you know that finding original track links in unused condition is getting nearly impossible these days. Thanks to the enormous material needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, genuine Warsaw Pact spare parts are disappearing from the market faster than we can source them. This might be your best chance to get proper track links for your restoration project!

What you’re getting:

These are genuine New Old Stock track links, straight from Polish Army warehouses. They’ve never been mounted on a vehicle, never seen mud, and never had to deal with the stress of actual combat or training exercises. Just decades of peaceful storage, waiting for someone like you to put them to proper use.

Important note about condition: The photos shown are sample images. Due to long-term storage, individual track links may look a bit different visually from what you see in the pictures. Some surface rust is also possible – after all, these are steel parts that have been sitting in warehouses for decades. Nothing that a wire brush and some elbow grease can’t handle, and it’s purely cosmetic. The links themselves are structurally sound and have never seen use.

Technical details:

A complete BMP-1 needs 168 track links (84 per side) and double that number of connectors. We currently have about 200 links available – enough for one complete vehicle with some spares left over, or perfect if you need to replace a damaged section of track.

Compatibility: These tracks will fit not only the BMP-1, but also all vehicles based on the BMP-1 suspension, as well as the BMP-2 and its derivatives. If you’re working on any of these platforms, these links will do the job.

Important note about connectors: We are currently gathering orders for track connectors, which will arrive later. If you need connectors as well, please contact us when placing your order, so we can reserve the right quantity for you when they come in.

Other options available:

• Used tracks in good condition: If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option and don’t need factory-fresh links, we also have good condition, usable used tracks available. These have seen service, but are still perfectly functional for restoration projects or vehicles that won’t see daily use. Perfect if you’re building a display vehicle or need to complete a restoration without breaking the bank.

• Brand new, current production tracks: For the right client, we can organize a completely new set from current production (manufactured from 2023 onwards). These are the same tracks being made today for active military use. However, be aware that these will be significantly more expensive than our New Old Stock or used options. If you’re restoring a museum-quality BMP-1 or need the absolute best for a vehicle that will see serious use, this might be worth considering. Contact us for pricing and lead times.

Why are these so rare?

Since February 2022, the demand for all Warsaw Pact armoured vehicle parts has skyrocketed. What used to sit quietly in military warehouses across Eastern Europe is now being shipped to Ukraine to keep their armoured units running. BMP-1s are still very much in active service, which means parts that were once readily available are now genuinely scarce. We’re not saying this to create artificial scarcity – it’s simply the reality of the current situation.

Shipping considerations:

Here’s something you need to know upfront – each track link weighs 6,36 kg. This means that shipping will be a significant part of your total cost. For a full set of 168 links, you’re looking at over 1000 kg of steel. We’re located in Jarocin, Poland, and we’ll arrange proper shipping on a pallet. Shipping costs will be calculated based on your location, but expect it to be in the range of €250-€700 for large quantities in most European destinations. Personal collection is possible by prior arrangement; it is up to you which option you prefer.
